Toyota Shows Surf-Inspired Tacoma at SEMA

Those in the Napa area know that traveling up and down the California coastline in search of the best waves requires a vehicle as dedicated to surfing as its owner. Jimmy Vasser Toyota is delighted to tell you that Toyota has come up with a model more that is more than well-suited for the job. Released earlier this month at the 2011 SEMA show, the Oakley Surf Tacoma receives inspiration directly from the surfing lifestyle.

With the help of surfing brand Oakley and several aftermarket part suppliers, Toyota created the model from a Toyota Tacoma 4X4 pickup truck. Built with a V6 engine and TRD supercharger, it can produce an output of 304 horsepower. In order to ensure the vehicle's performance, Toyota has equipped it with a Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust, Billet top A arms, an Icon stage 3 lift kit, a front coilover system and new leaf springs for added height.

Now, the Oakley Surf Tacoma model isn't solely about drive, utility is important as well. A purpose-built roof rack comes attached to the vehicle and allows for storing surfboards and other gear. At the end of a day on the beach, owners can rinse off and relaxed with an integrated showering system and available shades. Just in case that all isn't enough, the pickup comes complete with a pop-out ice chest and barbeque grill. And with a sporty black exterior and Oakley decals, the Surf Tacoma is bound to catch as many eyes as its owner catches waves.
